many gifted children attain an understanding of right and wrong, and the consequences that go along with good and evil. with this knowledge, these children are able to have a more advanced philosophy of the good, evil, and gray of the world at a much earlier age.
so pretty much...
if kids are into superheroes like batman and superman, they probably have a good sense of morality.

batman's been dead for a while now, but it's only sinking in now.
i was kinda mad, but at the same time, it's so amazingly interesting.
everyone's trying on the bat suit, lol.
jason, tim, and obviously dick's next.

but i'm convinced bruce is still alive somewhere in the stone age.

nevertheless, even IF bruce is dead, batman's still alive in his successors.

it's all going crazy.
-jason todd is a wack-job batman with guns
-tim drake is robin, but dresses up as batman from time to time
-dick grayson is an angry nightwing, becoming batman in the next issue
-and now there's a red robin...who isn't tim drake. who is this guy?

fun stuff.

the whole dc universe goes nuts after bruce wayne dies...i'm counting on tim drake and whoever red robin is to save the day.

when bruce comes back, it should be even more fun.

i kind of regret not buying a high school yearbook. these 4 years will disappear into nothingness like it never happened. i hardly remember my freshmen and sophomore years; heck, i don't even remember last year. looking into my 3rd grade elementary school year book was quite the trip. so many familiar faces.

some kids in that year book, i know today...and today they are so messed up - corrupted. those same kids, about 9 years ago, were the nicest of all the third graders. you look at them now, it's weird. how did little ryan grow up to be one of the biggest pot smokers i know? the same kid who told me how cool the latest batman movies was. i cling on to super heroes even now, just to keep a hold of myself from the wickedness of what the world has to offer. of coarse it's ultimately Christianity that saves me, but super heroes give a comfort of guidance that everyday people can't.

i think back to my childhood, and even through the hard times, it keeps getting brighter. i look forward to future that's dark and full of disappointments. but the past just keeps looking better.

without my high school years to look back on, i think i'll be stuck in w/e dark world i'm stepping into. yes i complain now about how much high school sucks, but i imagine myself 10 years from now...looking back to these moments, and thinking about how great it really was.

all is well. i don't think i want to remember the high school years. it sucked.
do i really want to remember how all my friends started drinking and smoking weed, and related more to comic book characters than actual people? haha, as if..

the crazy music in the background is a remix of christian bale's outburst in a set of terminator: salvation. lol.

one of the cinematographers went into the scene, and it messed up christian bale's flow. it was an emotional scene apparently, and bale was frustrated cuz a lot of the emotions were hard to get back. pretty crazy though, the audio is out there somewhere. lol. bale just went a little psycho, but i dont think we should write him off completely. he had a lot of dark knight promotion to do, the guy was in the way distracting him, and it was an emotional scene. 2 days later, he apologized for "acting like a punk," so i think it's all good now.

but man...lately it's been crazy for the guy. ever since the dark knight, it seems like he had nothing but trouble. remember that whole assault on his mom and his sister? well apparently they were talking smack about his wife, and he yelled at them and stormed off. the charges were dropped because of lack of evidence.

man, this guy is legit batman. it always looks like he's the bad guy, but he never is. here's a fun fact, his middle name is philip. lol.

there's apparently a cyber-war between a group called anonymous and scientology.
kinda cool. it's almost like a comic book story line.

a group of individuals who hide their identities, who call themselves anonymous, fight against a science fiction based cult built on a money oriented management.

1 Corinthians 3:9-15
"For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man's work will become evident for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire."

it's interesting because i always learned that it's not works that get you into heaven, but faith in Jesus Christ. that's all true, but what the church often times forgets to teach is the importance of how you build on that foundation of Christ. i'm not sure if i interpreted the text correctly, but it seems as though heaven will bring more rewards to those who have better works...but it could also refer to rewards in earthly life, and not afterlife. either way, it's still a significant difference than my initial perceptions of how these things work.

so the way i see it, it's kind of like a mix between communism and capitalism.
everyone gets the same treatment of heaven if they believe in Jesus, but in the amounts of works they have done for God will determine the amount of rewards, whether in earth or in heaven. i'm still trying to figure this thing out, and i might be wrong. but i just gained a new perception of the importance of works/lifestyle.

i always thought it was strange that a holy person and a murderer who decided to believe later in life could potentially both go to heaven equally. if that's how it really is, then what's the point of trying to be good? maybe that's how it is, but from the scripture above, there seems to be more rewards for those who build on their faith.

if you're not gonna to do the right thing for the right reasons, then at least do it for the wrong reasons.

is it wrong to think this way? yeah, probably...but it gets the right things done. that's my immature logic.
example: superman saves the day, but he has a blast flying around the city and beating on criminals while doing so.

one of the things that i've been struggling with is the importance of intention. is it really the intention of an act that is important, or the result of it? if my intention is to help someone, but it turns out i just let a psychopathic murderer blow that someone half to hell, then what good is it? (mind you, this is just a reference to The Dark Knight)

for now, until someone tells me otherwise - it's not the intention that matters, it's the result.

the ability to practice self-control, and to show restraint, is the ability to maintain humanity. in times of trouble, in times of darkness, people become vulnerable to it. whether a person succumbs to the darkness depends on his ability to assess himself. batman was only able to do so with robin as his double.

the gayest thing happened today, lol.

i went to the mall, and i pre-ordered the dark knight special edition dvd. it wa sall good, and then they had the nerve to say, "hey, this is what it looks like" and the suncoast lady hands me a dvd. then andy was like "so im guessing thats just the case?" and the reply with "no, it's the actual thing, we just cant sell it until the day of release, or we'll get a fine."

haha way to piss me off.

so the stores all have the dvds in stock, but they're just waiting until the 6th to sell them.

hahaha.

well that's the end of that story. while it might it's not the end of the world, it's just kinda upsetting to know that the dvd is out there, just not being sold. that sucker will be mine on tuesday!
